ATS® Tribal Combinations Level 1.5 + 2 - Silverton
Expand your ATS® vocabulary and learn how to build dance combinations with Tribal Combinations: Level 1.5 + 2. After you get acquainted with the ATS® system in Dance Fundamentals: Level 1, build on the basic movements with Tribal Combinations. Learn a new step each week and challenge yourself with teacher-guided combinations in duet, trio and quartet formations. A minimum of six weeks of Dance Fundamentals or a Crash Course in ATS workshop are required before beginning Tribal Combinations. Most Tuesdays, June - August, from 5:30 - 7:30 pm. ATS® Dance Fundamentals - Level 1
In this on-going class series, you’ll learn the basic system of ATS® in a fun and supportive environment. Dance Fundamentals will have you dancing in your very first class! Each one-hour class is divided into two sections: 1) Drill It! – Learn the basic movements of ATS® with minimal verbal instruction and lots of following along, committing the steps to muscle memory with fun workout-style drills; and 2) Dance It! – Experience the magic of ATS® and learn how to use the basic steps to dance with partners in duet, trio and quartet formations. Class content repeats every six weeks. You can start this on-going class series at anytime and drop-in for drills and review. No previous dance experience is necessary and all shapes, sizes and abilities are welcome!
ATS® Tribal Combinations - Level 2
Expand your ATS® vocabulary and learn how to build dance combinations. After you get acquainted with the ATS® system in Dance Fundamentals, build on the basic movements with Tribal Combinations. Learn a new step each week and challenge yourself with teacher-guided combinations in duet, trio and quartet formations. This twelve-week series of one-hour classes is best enjoyed concurrently with Dance Fundamentals. Six weeks of Dance Fundamentals and instructor invitation are required before beginning Tribal Combinations.
ATS® Drills & Improvisational Choreography - Level 3
Deepen your ATS® vocabulary, refine your technique, and learn advanced concepts. Once you are well versed in the steps and concepts from Dance Fundamentals and Tribal Combinations, ask a teacher if you are ready to attend Drills and Improv. We’ll present a different advanced step or concept each week, so pack your dance bag and be ready for a challenge! Enrollment is by instructor invitation only.
Performance Prep - Level 4
For members of Caldera's student troupe, this class will sharpen and refine the skills needed to create a seamless performance using improvisational choreography. Enrollment is by instructor invitation only.
Dancing In Flow®
Lose yourself in the bliss of ATS® movement! No instruction, just an hour of rapturous dance to inspiring world music. No talk, no technique, no formations, and no pressure! Just follow along, go with the flow, and most of all - have fun! Great review for experienced dancers, but open to all students and no prior experience is necessary. Please arrive warmed up and ready to dance.
Drills & Skills
A new belly dance challenge each week, strengthening both body and mind! Topics may include but are not limited to isolation drills, fusion combinations, conditioning for belly dance, balance/props, finger cymbals, and more! Open to all students, no prior experience necessary.
What to Wear/Bring to Class
For beginner classes, please wear a tank top or other form fitting shirt (so that your upper body and torso movements will be visible), and either a loose skirt, pantaloons, or stretchy exercise pants. Advanced students should wear a choli and full skirt. Bare feet, socks or dance shoes only in the studio. Wear your hair up so that your posture is visible. Bring a water bottle to stay hydrated and a yoga mat for warm up/cool down. If you choose to wear a hip scarf to accentuate your movements, please select one that is quiet and free of beads or other elements that might shake loose.
Class fees for ongoing, one-hour, Silverton-based classes are $12 drop in or $10 with a 5 punch pass.
5 punch passes are available for $50 and are good for 5 one-hour classes in Silverton. Punch passes expire within 2 months, no exceptions, please don't ask.
Payment can be made by cash (exact change appreciated), check (payable to Lisa Branner) or Paypal (to email@example.com).
Prepaid class tuition for session based classes is non-refundable.
In case of class cancellation due to instructor emergency, illness, or extreme weather you will be notified by email as soon as possible, and a makeup class will be scheduled.
Preregistration minimums must be met for session-based classes. If you sign up for a session and it doesn’t run, you will be refunded in full.
All classes are ladies only and you must be 18 years or older to participate.
Class starts promptly. Please be respectful of everyone’s time and show up early to get settled in.
There is no gum chewing in class.
Being intoxicated in class is not allowed.
Children are not allowed in the studio or unattended in the waiting area. We do not provide childcare.
No guests/friends/family are allowed in the studio during class unless they are a paying student.
Photography or video without prior permission is not permitted.
The studio is a safe space. There is zero tolerance for negative or intimidating attitudes of any kind.
If you are having trouble with a fellow student please tell me in private so that I may address the issue.
Please don't ask when you can progress to the next level or begin to perform. Instead, enjoy the journey for its own sake and trust that you will be invited to take the next step when you are ready.
